Do you ever feel like there’s a version of yourself you truly want to be, but something seems to hold you back? I understand how overwhelming that can feel, and you’re not alone in those struggles.
Life is full of challenges, and it can be difficult to navigate them on your own. My role as a therapist is to help you uncover what’s standing in your way and guide you through it—whether it’s anxiety, self-doubt, or other challenges.
I approach therapy as a collaborative process, combining practical strategies with a deep understanding of your unique experiences. Together, we’ll develop a plan that’s tailored to your needs, helping you move forward toward the person you want to become. My goal is to ensure you feel supported and understood, while also leaving each session with clarity and a sense of direction.
I’ve personally seen how impactful the right support can be on personal and family dynamics, and I’ve tailored my skills to help give that to as many people as possible. I offer a compassionate and solution-focused approach. We’ll work through the challenges together, so you can face life’s complexities with confidence and a renewed sense of self. If you’re ready to take that step, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey.
FAQs
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
While not everyone requires therapy, everyone can benefit from some form of mental health support. If you’re reading this, it might be because you’re looking for more than just advice from loved ones or understanding from peers. Perhaps you’re seeking the kind of deeper insight and personalized guidance that a therapist is uniquely trained to offer.
Therapists are experts at identifying the subtle patterns and behaviors that you might not even realize are there. Therapy focuses on uncovering and addressing the root causes of your challenges. If you’re here, it might be time to explore the kind of support that can truly make a difference.
Do you take my insurance?
I accept the following insurances:
-Blue Cross Blue Shield/Anthem/Carefirst
-Harvard Pilgrim
It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may be partially reimbursed. You can confirm eligibility by calling the members support number on the back of your insurance card and ask about “out of network benefits”.
I also accept private pay if you do not have insurance or prefer not to use it.
How soon can I make an appointment?
I’m generally able to see new clients within one week of booking. If you would like to book an appointment with me or have a 15 min consultation you can do so here.
What types of therapy do you offer?
I use a variety of different styles of therapy, and I'm focused on matching people with the approaches that work best for them.
Some types may be Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Behavioral, Family, and Couples Therapy.
I specialize in strategies for overcoming specific obstacles, such as Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, and conflicts related to LGBTQIA+ identities. I also work with couples and am a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional (CSTIP).
How long are therapy sessions, and how often will I need to come in?
The first therapy session lasts for one hour, with each subsequent session lasting 50 minutes. I’m happy to be flexible to your schedule. You can work with me as often or as slowly as you need. As we meet and we make progress towards your goals, we will routinely check in around your need to continue therapy as we go, so that the frequency of therapy matches the current need for it in your life.
What should I expect during my first session?
A first session will look like getting a relevant history of the matter you're seeking support around, getting a better idea of what your life looks like, identifying any present mental health conditions, and making a plan for the road ahead. I believe in transparency, so I often take great effort to "Bill Nye" my understanding as a psychotherapist, so you leave feeling like you have a clear understanding of exactly how therapy could help you.
